Gif#1: Winking Animation
I started from an old cell phone photo. At no point did she actually wink, I created that look in Photoshop. The first two tries were terrible, it looked like she had a deformed black eye. This one is not perfect but it works. Mainly I was just trying to get the idea of creating an animated GIF figured out.
Gif#2: Animated Name and custom shape
I chose to keep this one fairly simple. I did figure out how much more could be done with Tweens and I could have made this a lot longer and more complicated if I had wanted or needed to do that.
Gif#3: Files on a Stack
This worked fine but the entire process was very different from how I imagined it would work. I am happy with how it turned out.
By the way - per assignment instructions each of these GIFs repeats only 5 times. Now I know how that works and where that is. So you can use anywhere from one repeat, to having it repeat forever, and anywhere in between. Each of these was created in Photoshop.

Insomniac Zombie Cellist Photoshopping Dancers
Photoshop video editing Rocks. Who knew?
Photoshop never ceases to amaze me. I wrote earlier that every time I think I know everything Photoshop can do, I learn about another entire BIG category of additional things it can do. Typically, that involves an entire extra set of tools. For example, editing in Camera RAW.
Nobody told me you could do video in Photoshop now that 6.0 is here. It works great and it is pretty easy too. I am new to making videos so what I created here was not intended to do much of anything except for learn how to make it work while incorporating short clips of some video I have from the past year or so. YouTube and video using a smart phone is not new to me though, I've been doing stuff with that for a couple of years now. What blew me away was how easy it was to cut and paste clips together.
The one minute and four seconds that came together includes a moment from PAX with the Disco Zombies, a heavily engineered cello and vocal track I wrote, some footage of my daughter, and still shots of some of my Media 201, Digital Image Editing assignments. What I really enjoyed was how easy it was to bring over the tools and techniques I've already learned from static images to video. Kudos to Adobe, this was very intuitive.
While trying to put my YouTube Link on Weebly, I had a recurring, pre-existing "Lost John Locke - Speed Painting by Nico" YouTube video stuck in there. I had no idea how that ended up being the only thing it wanted to post, or how to get my video link on there to work. So I switched over to the Custom HTML instead and used the directions there to put the link in. When for some reason it wouldn't cut & paste, I just typed it in. Then it worked!
If you find yourself having similar problems, here is the link to that:
